"Because language is at the heart of culture, it is essential both that we establish a common language around race, and at the same time remain open to understanding how our varied racial experience shape our own vocabulary and comfort with racial conversations in general as well as with specific word choice."  (Glenn Singleton - Courageous Conversations About Race)  In this session we will actively engage with vocabulary words about race through group work and personal reflection.  Applications will be made to the use of these words in our own lives and in our classrooms.
