This session will focus on language acquisition strategies to use in the classroom from day 1 with students at the beginning stages of English language development. Participants will leave with information about how students move through the beginning stages of language acquisition, which skills to target first, how to build upon skills students' have in their home language, and strategies to promote understanding of academic content.
